Stress Management and Relief

Dr. Schulze is a protégé of the late Dr. John R. Christopher, the famous herbalist who started his practice informally during WW2 and grew in stature until he was a world-renowned herbalist with many 'impossible' headings to his credit. Dr. Schulze claims that every cancer patient that he has treated has had the element of stress in their life whether they realized it at the time or not. Stress produces an acid body and an acid body cannot properly heal. An essential link in our ability to fight cancer, our immune system, is shut down by stress. You may have to take extended leave from school or work. Usually two months is adequate time if you are following an effective program.

Relationships offer the greatest sources for stress in our lives. It may be in this area that you must take affirm stand and set aside this kind of exposure for a while until you are well on the path to recovery. At the time that I was diagnosed in April of 1996, I had a very stressful relationship with a family member. It was necessary for me to discontinue this relationship. I had to completely forgive those who were responsible for causing the distress. This did not reestablish a relationship as may be supposed. It was a complete disconnection which relieved me from the control that they exercised over my life and caused me to constantly brood over an irreconcilable situation. They were forgiven out of, not into a relationship. Many preach that forgiveness means restoration. In this case, it simply meant that nobody owed anybody anything, no apology or other compensation. If money had been involved, that debt would also needed to be forgiven. Again, this is to remove the emotional control that another, unwittingly, had taken over my life.

I am very glad to say that the situation is now completely resolved, but at the time, it was absolutely necessary for me to be completely relieved of any responsibility in this situation until I was recovered.

There are many other sources of stress, too. They may be a result of employment pressures, school pressures, or other social requirements. You my have to give up your new automobile or club membership. You may have to chose an entirely different group of peers. This may be one of the several life style changes that you must make in order to conquer the disease. It is better to live in a smaller house and survive that to lose your life over some perceived status level that is costing you your life.

An important source of stress, especially with mothers of young children, is the obligation to take care of family. I knew a mother of young children who could not free herself of this responsibility, even though help was available. She did not properly take care of herself. She left two pre-school children.

In another situation, a mother of teenagers died of cancer as her children bickered over whose turn it was to wash the dishes. It is essential for caregivers to recognize the need of a stress free environment and to do everything possible to free the patient of the stress of arguments and obligations. This may mean turning off the TV during the news, which is nothing but a continual report on distressing situations. The world will survive for a while without your knowledge or input.

The mechanics are this; cancer can thrive in an acid body and it cannot grow in an alkaline body. Stress produces an acid body.
